| Welcome to the home of Alaska Dog News©! Who would have guessed on Labor Day 2007, that a stray dog would have led us to a statewide newsletter for dog lovers in Alaska? About Alaska Dog News© Alaska Dog News© first published on April 1st of 2008 with an online presence and limited print issues distributedin local at valley animal hospitals, shelters, pet rescue locations and other locations. We now distribute over a 100 mile radius. Demographics The market for pet news, information sharing and pet products is huge! The Mat-Su Valley , and Anchorage have a population of over 360,000 residents. The Mat-Su Valley is 25th in the nation for growth at a rate of 65 new families a month. Those families are bringing and acquiring pets. An estimated 65% of the households in the Valley have one or more dogs not including the mushing (sled dog racing) community. If you’re a pet product or service supplier you want to be in this targeted publication. Web Site Statistics Advertisers and our dog loving community are not only seen in Alaska but nationally and internationally. In the last month Alaska Dog News occupied the top 1-3 positions in a direct search. Notices for each issue are posted on over 15 dog and pet related forums along with over 900 email contacts notified. In the first week after the notification over 1000 unique visitors hit the webpage. The most identifiable sources are Google, Sled Dog Central forum, DockDogs while the bulk of the hits come from direct sources, the announcements sent via email. Forums such as Sled Dog Central, Working Retriever, Dogster, Cabelas, Iditarod are national and international forums. News for you!
